Amount of AI-generated child sexual abuse material found online surged in 2025

AI technology is being increasingly used to generate child sexual abuse material, with a 14% increase in 2025 and a staggering 260-fold increase in video content. The Internet Watch Foundation verified over 8,000 pieces of realistic AI-generated CSAM, with 65% of videos classified in the worst category of abuse. This represents a massive escalation in AI-enabled harm against children.
